The Lapeer Community Scholarship and Student Loan Fund is supervised by its board of directors, comprised of four LCS administrators and five Lapeer community and business leaders.
All students who graduate from Lapeer High School or Lapeer Community High School, or are recent grads of same and current college students are eligible to apply for scholarships and/or low-interest loans to assist with college expenses.
The loan application is available in the spring each year. It can be found on this site, downloaded, completed and submitted to the ASC Administration Office. Applications are also available at the LHS Counseling Office and the ASC Administration Office. Returning applicants must submit by May 15, and graduating seniors must submit by June 15. Funds are distributed typically in early August to allow students to apply the funds to their fall statements. We plan to assist as many students as possible. Please be cognizant of timelines.
Scholarship selections are made by committees in the high schools and community and the eligibility is particular to each scholarship. Be sure to apply on time with the Common Application in your High School Counseling Office.
Seniors of Lapeer East, Lapeer West and Lapeer Community High Schools: Applications are being taken for the 2012-13 school year. Up to $2,000 can be borrowed each year for a maximum $8,000. 5% interest. We encourage you in your quest to conquer the costs of your college education, to consider making the Lapeer Community Scholarship and Student Loan Fund part of your Financial Aid Package.
